Balfour Retractors

Balfour retractors are a self-retaining abdominal wall retractor, holding the incision open without needing constant manual retraction. Used in laparotomy procedures (abdominal exploration, gastrointestinal surgery, caesarean sections, liver surgery, diaphragmatic ruptures, etc.

Designed with a central blade and lateral arms (“wings”) which can be adjusted/spread outward and locked in position.
